Sailing Camp Opti (June 3-7)

Sailors will be evaluated and placed in a group based on their sailing abilities. Sailors must be between the ages of 7 to 12.

Opti Beginner

Sailors will be introduced to wind direction and have a chance to sail double-handed, alternating between crew and skipper positions. In addition, they will learn knot tying, sail trim, boat trim, steering, and practice capsize and recovery drills. This will also provide the sailor the opportunity to rig and de-rig a boat and practice land drills.

Opti Intermediate/Advanced

This session is designed for the sailor who is ready for advanced sailing and racing techniques. Emphasis is placed on advanced sail trim, body position, boat speed & technique. This session offers an introduction to course racing, high wind sailing, rudderless sailing, etc.

Cancellation and Refund Standard:

Camp registration is refundable minus a $25 processing fee before May 31, 2024. Registrations can be switched to other week pending availability with a $75 processing fee.

After June 1, 2024, and up to 2 weeks before the start of your scheduled camp, registrations are non-refundable or transferable, but a USSCMC credit will be offered and may be applied to future camps, private sailing lessons, programming, or a USSCMC membership. No refunds or credits will be issued after your scheduled week of camp begins.
